Description:

At Forks Lath and Plaster, apprenticeships offer an immersive journey into the specialized world of steel stud framing and drywall installing and finishing. FLP is committed to investing in the growth of our workforce and nurturing talent. This dedication is exemplified through our nationally accredited apprenticeship program. You will receive a combination of classroom learning and on-the-job training. This program empowers individuals to advance in their careers! Upon completing the program, you will receive a Journeyman’s certificate that will assist in the advancement of your career with FLP.

The apprenticeship program is a hybrid course, consisting of both on-the-job training and classroom learning. Once you have completed the course, you will receive a Journeyman certificate, and you can earn $30+ an hour as a Journeyman with FLP!

The Foreman/Superintendent is responsible for planning and oversight of all aspects of the assigned project. This role will oversee and manage our crews and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards.

Description:

The Steel Framer is responsible for framing commercial projects using steel framing materials. The Steel Framer will install metal studs used to create the framework for walls in commercial buildings, cut and trim materials, and use hand tools, power tools, and various equipment to complete their work. The Steel Framer will also read blueprints to determine methods of installation, and measure and mark surfaces to lay out work using various marking devices/tools.

Previous experience is preferred, but is not required. Training provided on-site!

Description:

The General Laborer is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site. The General Laborer will be responsible for performing day-to-day construction tasks related to steel stud framing and drywall installing and finishing. The General Laborer will assist the steel framers on commercial projects with cutting material, trimming material to size, and using power/hand tools as needed. The General Laborer will also assist with any drywall installing or finishing tasks as needed.

Description:

The Drywall Installer/Finisher is responsible for installing, cutting, and measuring drywall panels according to design plan and smoothing and finishing drywall surfaces. The Drywall Installer/Finisher will fasten drywall panels to support structures, apply tape and sealing compounds to cover joints between wallboards, and patch, trim, and smooth rough spots and edges.

Forks Lath & Plaster (FLP) is currently seeking a motivated and passionate individual to instruct our in-house apprenticeship program, as well as assist with our employee onboarding and training sessions.

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for providing instruction and guidance to student apprentices enrolled in our in-house program. This role involves delivering lectures, facilitating hands-on training, and assessing apprentices’ progress to ensure they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for a successful career in the construction industry. The Learning and Development Specialist will also assist with our employee onboarding and training sessions.
